As the central city of a vast region, Saint-Hyacinthe offers a vast array of services. Its terms of education, its services are broad and varied, ranging from kindergartens to a university faculty and including a local CEGEP and the ITA.

Culturally speaking, the community is endowed with major facilities (Le Centre des arts Juliette-Lassonde), enabling it to support the community’s thriving arts scene.

Not only is the City home to the Centre de santé et des services sociaux Richelieu-Yamaska, but it has a regional short-term care hospital and a CLSC that delivers all the necessary front-line services.

The different levels of government offer an extensive variety of local services geared to different segments of the population and covering a full range of socio-economic activities. The head offices of a number of companies are also located in Saint-Hyacinthe, notably, La Survivance (a mutual insurance company), Intact Assurance (Quebec regional headquarters) and the Fédération des Caisses Desjardins (regional headquarters).

Financial services are offered by a number of different banking institutions and the Caisses populaires Desjardins network.
